Mang the Wild Orangutan

Orangutans are our close relatives, highly intelligent and very gentle. In this poignant story, Mang, the old orangutan who lives in the zoo, remembers back to his happy days in the lush rainforests of Borneo. As he travels lightly through the treetops on his mother's back, he learns to find food and to hide from his enemies. When people come into the rainforest, Mang is captured and transported to the zoo. In captivity, he entertains his onlookers with a display of his skills and intelligence.
