• Wombat Sees a Bunyip and Wombat' Surprise Party uses repetition to develop confidence in early readers. The ideas are simple and the sentences are short.
• Joey Loses his Mummy and Emu the Bully are for emergent readers. They encourage the prediction of text through repetition and humour.
• Koala needs a Home and Echidna Loses Her Memory are for proficient readers to enjoy. The ideas and sentence structure are more complex, but sharp writing keeps them fun to read and perform.

All of the plays in Animal Crackers have been enthusiastically read and performed by children aged 6-8 years. They have proven very popular with students, teachers and parents - and you and your class will enjoy them too!
