Inspirations

Artworks are something like people. The more time you spend with them and the more you ask them questions, the more you come to understand and appreciate their point of view.

This innovative selection of art images from Asia provides a wealth of inspiration for the primary classroom. Each art card includes an image of an artwork on one side with information about the piece, the artist and their culture/s on the reverse.

With traditional, modern and contemporary art examples, Inspirations presents a wide range of forms, styles and materials, such as:

• a nineteenth-century Japanese woodblock printing
• a traditional Hindu miniature painting from India
• Arabic calligraphy from the Qur’an
• a contemporary ant farm installation symbolising today’s widespread erosion of national identity and cultural autonomy
• many other captivating images from the countries of Asia.
