Switched-on Ideas: Knowing and Doing (book & cards)

The Australian Curriculum identifies seven general capabilities that are essential for students to develop into confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens. These include critical and creative thinking; personal and social competence; and ethical behaviour.

The Switched-on Ideas series is based on the principle that learning occurs when students are engaged in the learning process, the curriculum is purposeful and students feel they are valued members of the learning community.

Switched-on Ideas: Knowing and Doing contains a teacher book and a set of five A3-sized, double-sided colour cards, each focused on one of the following topics:

• assessment
• inquiry learning
• learning communities
• multiple intelligences
• sustainability.

The Switched-on Ideas teacher book assist teaching and modelling each topic with planning guides, key strategies and ready-to-go photocopiable proformas.
