What is globalisation? How does it impact on your life and the lives of others? How is it changing the world and interactions between people? Is it good or bad?
Global education seeks to prepare students to be active, participating citizens who contribute to shaping a better future in an increasingly globalised world.
Globalise me! A student's guide to globalisation presents upper secondary students with a range of resources to explore globalisation through themes common in the English, Economics, Geography and History classrooms. Each of the six chapters is arranged around a particular theme:
All chapters consist of an introduction giving a broad overview of the theme, and a variety of resources - newspaper and magazine articles, tables, graphs, photos, cartoons - presenting a range of viewpoints. General questions on each theme and specific questions on the resource assist teachers and students in exploring the issues and the impact of globalisation, and in forming opinions and considering active responses.
Support materials are included on the accompanying CD-ROM and the global education website http://www.globaleducation.edna.edu.au.
