Images of Asia

In the new Studies of Asia Big Card Sets, eight countries of Asia are explored through four themes—‘The Environment’, ‘Beliefs’, ‘Innovations’ and ‘Symbols, Patterns and Designs’. Each card features a richly illustrated map and photographs depicting the theme.

Explore aspects of the countries of Asia by drawing on visual understandings, supported by teacher guided learning activities. The cards encourage small group, shared investigations, and contain stimulus for higher-order thinking and discussion.

A Teacher Guide contains commentary on the photographs, student learning activities for each set and blackline masters, including outline maps of the eight countries.

Under floor heating in Korea, rice terraces in the Philippines, the Sky train in Bangkok and Vietnamese water puppets are some of the examples of technical and cultural innovation in countries of Asia.
